Razan AlOlimat, M.Sc.
Position: Associate Educational Policy Researcher
Profile: Razan AlOlimat, M.Sc., is an associate researcher at Eia Research and Consultancy Center specializing in AI education policy analysis, with a focus on how national AI strategies translate — or fail to translate — into K-12 implementation across the Gulf and Jordan. Drawing on 11 years of international teaching experience across Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, her work examines the gap between policy design and classroom reality, using comparative document analysis and institutional theory to identify where governance frameworks create unfunded mandates and structural strain on educators. She will present this research as “Coordinating AI Education Policy: A Comparative Analysis of Implementation in Jordan, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia” at ICERI 2026 in Seville.
She will also present a peer-reviewed paper, “The Authentication Chain Under Strain: Generative AI and Academic Integrity in International Baccalaureate Coursework,” at BCE 2026 in Barcelona. The paper analyzes the International Baccalaureate’s academic integrity and authentication policies and how generative AI undermines their core assumptions about verifying student authorship.
Key Areas of Expertise:
- AI education policy analysis — using frameworks like the design-reality gap model to evaluate how national AI strategies hold up (or fail) when implemented in K-12 systems.
- Comparative cross-country policy research — analyzing and contrasting AI governance approaches across Jordan, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
- Academic integrity and GenAI risk — examining how generative AI challenges existing authentication and authorship-verification systems, with a focus on the International Baccalaureate.
- Classroom-to-policy translation — grounding policy critique in 11 years of direct K-12 teaching experience across the Gulf and Jordan, rather than purely theoretical analysis.
